Minted coins for Plainfield, IA   Gallagher Park shirts for Plainfield, IA

I created the design for the Plainfield, IA. Plainfield Days in recognition of the local park having it's 75th birthday.
I worked with a company in Minneapolis very closely on this to make sure no problems existed before they minted the coins. I also made the same design for shirts and made 3-fold flyers.

Jerry B headstone

A little more on the morbid side maybe... but I have created the art for five headstones so far. My parents' marker is at the top left which I designed the entire piece. I supplied the art of Rex Westcott's personal plane and Jerry Bahnsen wanted the truck and tar kettle. Depending on the type of stone, the line work has specific widths and some detail is lost on stones with larger marble pieces.

Hobo statue before repair    Finished hobo statue repair and paint

This Hobo statue had more broken parts than Evil Knievel ever had! He had been repaired many times and the pieces were not matched up anywhere and his cane was broke half off. He used to travel to the Britt Hobo Days but I told his owner that his traveling days are over or I won't be able to repair him again. I made a wood dowel and covered it with plaster and had many other holes to fill besides sanding down the mismatched parts, then I gave him a freshly "dirtied up" paint job. He resides at
The Town Pump in Clear Lake, Ia. I also have made the four page menus for The Pump.

Jesus statue before repair    Side view of Jesus statue after repair

Close up of Jesus statue after repair

St. James Lutheran Church, in Mason City, had Jesus stored away for about 40 years. His fingers were broken down to wires and he had many chip marks all over and the base was pretty chopped up around the edges. I spent a year sanding and rebuilding Jesus in the church basement. It was a hard time in my life and me and Jesus had many conversations
on my visits to the dark basement storage room. The church decided they wanted to keep him painted white instead of going back to the original colors. (I took many photos in case they change their minds :) The church kept trying to pay me for my time but I did not want payment considering Jesus never charged me for all the "therapy" sessions :)

Very old rocking horse Rocking horse with new paint, ears and tail

My grandfather made this rocking horse... I repainted it and gave it new ears and a bushy tail. I had to crop part of this picture as the photo itself was bad on one side. It was taken several years ago.

Twins magazine original and "new" version

Yes, I know... bad camera shots! Anyway.. what I did here was a joke for a salesman I worked with. (He is originally from Waverly, IA. btw.) A bunch of us had gone to a Twins game that year and I scanned the Twins magazine, made a few changes and gave the salesman a new career in baseball:)

Box art and matching flyer

This is both a flattened box and a flyer. The customer brought me a blank layout for the box and I made my own template on the computer so that everything matched and fell into place and I sent a disk to the box printer.

Worth County Conservation sign

Detail of painting put on sign

This last one is a bad photo of a sign for Worth county that only needed a copy of a deer, that someone else drew, put in the oval area and painted. This was done several years ago before I had a decent camera:)

boys room

I put 3 coats of red paint, two coats of black and one coat of white Kilz paint for the "heartbeat".

The NP Huskies is a vinyl decal that I created and had made in two colors and had to be in 5 separate pieces.

I applied the white first, then the black - all without having registration marks.

I then added the white vinyl paw prints.
